The 6th Gurkha Rifles held a Regimental Durbar in Pokhara Nepal on the 30th of March 2013. Apart from some 1800 retired soldiers there were some 100 from outside Nepal. Most of these had their itinerary organised by Jack Baucher. This was a challenging task as most stayed for 2 weeks. Apart from hotels and internal flights Jack had to also organise their trekking agendas as well as trips to Bardia and Chitwan. The overwhelming response from was that “it had exceeded their expectations several times over and Jack and his dedicated staff played a key part in all of this” I can fully support these comments and can recommend Tears for Tiger Travel for anyone contemplating visiting Nepal.

Tears for Tigers Travel were fantastically responsive and perceptive in putting together a trip for my boyfriend and I to see the best national parks of Sri Lanka. We saw huge herds of wild elephant, numerous species of birds and even a sloth bear. Our accommodation was comfortable, charming and private. Our favorite lodge room to be at Gal Oya, where there is even the option of an outdoor shower amongst the jungle- a perfect way to be with nature. Sri Lanka is a must go for all and Jack and his team could not have provided a better agency service.

I feel bad that you beat us getting in touch! I was going to e-mail you anyway to say what a perfect and amazing holiday TfT put together for us. A definite high point was the Leopard Trails camp at Wilpattu. Such nice people and all beautifully run, we had a delicious dinner sitting on the little island in the middle of the pond, with hundreds of lanterns shining around us. Just magical. We had a wonderful guide/driver, who could not have been better. We loved everywhere we stayed, beautiful places and with wonderful attention to detail. We did a "Village Experience" after Sigiriya, which was great - a ride on an Ox cart, a ride on a catamaran, sampling sweet meats in a village hut, ride in a tuk-tuk, watched a pumpkin curry being prepared and then having a delicious curry lunch. Perfect. Gal Oya was wonderful and we got up close to elephants. That was very special. The tea plantations were amazing and we were so well looked after in Norwood. We loved Galle and then to end up at Saman Villas in Bentota, well, that was Heaven. We came back feeling very rested and hugely appreciative of your knowledge and experience. Thank you so much for such a wonderful trip, we loved the island and the people!

Tears for Tigers Travel are dynamic, flexible, friendly and thoughtful: they put together a simply stunning itinerary in Nepal allowing us to sample the grandeur of the great mountains of the Himalayas, the lifestyles of the local people, excellent hotels and lodges - we even got to stay in a converted Buddhist monastery. We travelled in hope that we would see tigers: we did - and we heard them too! Magnificent and unforgettable. Would we book with them again? Undoubtedly.

My wife and I travelled with friends in Nepal for two weeks in November 2014 under the guidance of Jack Baucher and his Tears for Tigers Travel agency. We flew in from India and were met by his team who escorted us seamlessly to Hotel Dwarikas where we spent a delightful evening enjoying our first taste of Nepal food in the banquet room. Beware that you sit on cushions on the floor. Normal western seating is also available. The following day we travelled into the interior and stayed our first week high in the hills on the road to base camp Everest. We enjoyed the local cuisine, walked, inspected temples and experienced religious ceremonies and markets from a secure and comfortable base. We also climbed up to 8000 ft. to see Everest at dawn. A wonderful and unique experience. The second week was spent in Tiger Tops Karnali lodge in Bardia national park. Elephant rides into the jungle, tiger spotting, and bird and other animal life was in abundance all well guided by excellent English speakers. The accommodation here was very good indeed. We walked in the jungle went fishing for the golden maseer and visited local villages to experience the Nepal culture and friendliness. Throughout our trip the Baucher team looked after us very well indeed. Travel in this country can be a real challenge. Whilst in the mountains, due to bad weather, those at base camp could not fly out and had to walk out which took many days. The baucher team had contingency plans for all eventualities and as a result we had no issues whatsoever. Finally checking in at airports in Nepal is an art and not for the squeamish or impatient. Our team ensured that it was handled for us and we got what we expected. As they say in the stock market, a strong buy.

We have just had the most amazing family holiday. Travelling with children (ours are 8 and 9) naturally poses some challenges, but from the initial contact with 'Tears for Tigers' team until we left Nepal, 9 days later, we couldn't have been more pleased. We have just returned from a 4 day/3 night trek (Prince's trail). The trekking team was very professional. Our Sadhar, Lopsong and head sherpa were always on hand to help the children over stone fences, guide them safely down slippery steps and up the steepest of hills. It was obvious that safety is always their first priority. The team always chose the most enjoyable route to walk but were able to alter routes when inclement weather set in.The kitchen/cooking staff ensured our days walk were rewarded with picturesque lunch stops. As a days walking drew to a close, Lopsong helped keep the kids motivated by singing trekking songs, playing games and sharing his local knowledge. Tired and weary, after a days walk, arriving at our campsite, we were always greeted with a warm drink, a tasty snack and tents that were already pitched and ready for us to climb into at any moment thereafter! Prior to sitting down to any scrumptious meal, the kitchen staff put out washing water and soap. Once again reiterating the need to keep good health, the meals were tasty and nutritious. It was amazing to see what could be created in camp stoves. Trekking on a less strenuous trail, it was inevitable we were going to come across other families. It was obvious to us that our family was getting value for money and other families were envious of the care and personal nature of out tailored trek. We were so pleased with the professionalism of Tears for Tigers that we are intending to return very soon to do another trek as a family.
